The
108 Skills of Natural Born Leaders
by Warren Blank
I'm an avid reader of business, management, leadership
books and 108 Skills is one of the best I've ever
read! It provides literally hundreds of practical
suggestions on "how-to" improve Leadership
skills. I was able to apply many of the ideas
immediately to my own work environment, with great
results. I then made sure all of my management
and staff got a copy -- which has definitely increased
our ability to work efficiently as a team. I'd
recommend this book to anyone who is seriously
interested in improving their ability to Take
Charge and lead oneself and others. In fact, I'm
planning to use 108 Skills as a guide in our new
training programs, and have great confidence that
my employees will learn important skills for both
their personal and professional lives.

Skills
for New Managers
by Morey Stettner
This book is well written and nearly perfect for
those transitioning to a management position with
little time to spare. I found it to be well organized
and concise, highlighting good common sense principles
to remember when you take the helm of your new
position. It addresses many of the common stereotypes
and pitfalls new and experienced managers encounter.
The book does fall short of one of the back covers
claims about hiring. Nowhere within it's pages
does it discuss hiring strategies or interviewing
skills. This was disappointing and a critical
piece missed by the author.

Leadership
by Rudolph W. Giuliani, Ken Kurson
Through much of his tenure as
mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani was a controversial
figure whose personal weaknesses often overshadowed
his political strengths. After September 11, however,
the world focused on Giuliani's ability to lead
with courage and controlled emotion. In LEADERSHIP,
Giuliani demonstrates through vivid, practical
examples how he used an aggressive, hands-on management
style to deal with everything from petty crime
to terrorism.
Tony Roberts infuses Giuliani's
words with grace and tempered emotion and revels
in his take-charge style. Although, at times,
Roberts sounds more like a performer than the
former mayor/prosecutor, he succeeds in conveying
Giuliani's confidence, tenacity, and courage.
Giuliani reads the book's introduction with passion,
making the listener wonder why he didn't read
all of his inspiring words. D.J.S. © AudioFile
