The Leadership Training Institute offers workshops that teach participants to confidently use proven methods of management leadership to lead people and help them plan, organize and control their work assignments. Workshop participants will also learn to use resources made available to them more effectively.

Workshop Objectives:

At the 90-day post-workshop assessment, participants will have:

  • Demonstrated (on the job) an understanding that the intuitive style of leadership (self-centered, directive) will only work in special circumstances and will have made noticeable improvement in working themselves toward a management leadership style (participatory, empowering)
  • Spent more time "leading and managing" and less time "doing"
  • Used the action planning process to plan and implement at least one important initiative that has a positive impact on business results
  • Used the decision-making technique on the job to arrive at sound decisions that have or will have a positive impact on business results
  • Demonstrated greater ability to function in teamwork situations
  • Developed and successfully used a system of control by exception

Leadership Development Workshop: Effective Leadership For Greater Accomplishments

There are many definitions of effective leadership. One school of thought is of the opinion that a leader who can lead others in successful completion of a mission is an effective leader with better leadership traits. There are also institutes who categorize efficient leaders as those who take a back seat and let others do more. This type of leadership style limits itself to a supervising role only. The extent of leadership success is also measured by some organizations through credibility and income gains. An in-depth analysis shows that leadership cannot be confined to a single situation or attribute.

How can one quantify successful leadership? In every walk of life and in all times people stepped forward as effective leaders and proved through their accomplishments the effectiveness of their leadership style. Study of the past can reveal many aspects of exemplary leaders. Being adaptable, one should also take into account the present times and the need of leadership traits to implement today as opposed to the past.

In the past, autocratic and authoritative leadership was considered a norm. Today people are more responsive to supportive leaders and tend to work more as partners than inferiors. A wide-ranging analysis of the past, present and possible future reveals the core traits for effective leadership and what can be expected from these leaders to get accomplishments and accolades from their tasks.

Leaders of today are those who are truly revered amongst their followers. This is because they show consideration for their followers. Consideration and empathy is the foremost trait required for successful leadership today. In any working environment today those employers are considered to be the best leaders who can show care for their employees. A more important trait of today's leader is being focused on their goals and guiding the team to achieve them.

Being able to withstand any hurdles and stay committed to the task up to the very end makes the leader capable to motivate others to do the same. A leader with enhanced communication skills at all levels of team correspondence also ensures and strengthens successful leadership. Those who can keep their head straight and get their point across to others effectively and in a timely manner are better leaders. The leadership style and its effectiveness are also attributable to the limitations and potential of the leaders. Those who lead and are fully aware of their strengths are more likely to achieve success than those who are not aware and in control of their resources.

There are no real limitations to the traits which ensure leadership efficiency. It is a blend of professionalism, a firm commitment to success and the ability to be a team player. Effective leadership is accomplished through all of these skills, and unlike the old saying, these are not born leaders but individuals who made themselves leaders through sheer hard work and determination.
