Proven Leadership Skills

The Leadership Training Institute offers courses that teach participants to confidently use proven methods of management leadership to lead people and help them plan, organize and control their work assignments. Course participants will also learn to use resources made available to them more effectively.

On-Site Courses: can be tailored to the needs of client organization and delivered on-site at time and location of client choice.

Course Objectives:

At the 90-day post-course assessment, participants will have:

  • Demonstrated (on the job) an understanding that the intuitive style of leadership (self-centered, directive) will only work in special circumstances and will have made noticeable improvement in working themselves toward a management leadership style (participatory, empowering)
  • Spent more time "leading and managing" and less time "doing"
  • Used the action planning process to plan and implement at least one important initiative that has a positive impact on business results
  • Used the decision-making technique on the job to arrive at sound decisions that have or will have a positive impact on business results
  • Demonstrated greater ability to function in teamwork situations
  • Developed and successfully used a system of control by exception

Management Training Courses: Now is Not the Time

So, now is not the time to be shy or full of indecision. Reluctance on your part as an owner or manager will not prove you to be worthy of the consumers hard earned dollar. I've learned a few things that I'll pass along to you, in the hopes it helps you as it has me. And, I might add, this has boosted our bottom line quite nicely.

1.) Determine what areas, as an owner or manager, you are lacking in. For me, I'd much rather spend time with customers rather than do the daily clerical tasks. Resolution: Delegate those tasks to another person on your team.

2.) If sales are low, decide on some areas that you could cut back in. For me, I decided to lower prices on a select portion of our home decor items. Knowing that I'd rather make some money versus no money. Resolution: By being proactive now, you're not waiting until you have to react, which can stir up panic amongst your staff, and that is never a good scenario.

3.) Notice what areas staff may be insufficient. Resolution: Train often and train well. Practice makes perfect, right?

4.) Take a hard look at how your business handles waste. Not just in product, but time, electricity, phone usage, etc... Resolution: It's never too early to tighten up the purse strings, just don't do it to the point of becoming a scrooge. That type of employer is never fun to work for.

5.) Don't let you and your staff feel like you're always giving more than your taking. Keep the working atmosphere pleasant and courteous. Remember, we teach others how to treat us, so if you're the leader, be a strong, positive force.

Now is the time to be at your very best. Who knows what the future holds for all of us, but i can tell you this, practicing being your best now will give you rewards greater that you think! Weak-mindedness = Hesitation = Unhappy environment.
