At the 90-day post-workshop assessment, participants will have:

  • Demonstrated (on the job) an understanding that the intuitive style of leadership (self-centered, directive) will only work in special circumstances and will have made noticeable improvement in working themselves toward a management leadership style (participatory, empowering)
  • Spent more time "leading and managing" and less time "doing"
  • Used the action planning process to plan and implement at least one important initiative that has a positive impact on business results
  • Used the decision-making technique on the job to arrive at sound decisions that have or will have a positive impact on business results
  • Demonstrated greater ability to function in teamwork situations
  • Developed and successfully used a system of control by exception

Leadership Training - What Is the Definition of Leadership?

According to John Maxwell, The Definition Of Leadership Is:

INFLUENCE

Everybody talks about it; not many fully grasp it. The majority of people desire it; very few achieve it.

My treasured leadership proverb is:

"He who thinketh he leadeth and hath no one following him is only taking a walk.

Leadership is the ability to obtain followers. This is extremely important in the network marketing community, blogging business and internet marketing industry.

"Once you define leadership as the ability to get followers, you work backward from that point of reference to figure out how to lead."

Therein lies the problem. Virtually all people define leadership as the ability to achieve a position, not to get followers. As a result, many people go after a position, rank, or title and upon their arrival believe they have become a leader. This particular type of thinking results in two common problems:

Those who have the "status" of a leader frequently encounter the disappointment of few followers,

Those who lack the proper titles might not really see themselves as leaders and therefore never develop their leadership skill.

Army Leadership manual, FM 6-22, declares the significance of leadership best:

"A leader is anyone who inspires and influences people to accomplish organizational goals; they motivate others to pursue actions, focus thinking, and shape decisions for the greater good of the organization."

Insights Regarding Influence

Sociologists inform us that even the most introverted individual will influence 10,000 other people throughout his or her lifetime!

Which indicates that all of us are leading in many areas, although in other areas we are being led. Absolutely no one is ruled out from becoming a leader or a follower.

Recognizing your potential as a leader is your responsibility. Throughout any given circumstance along with any given team there is a dominant influencer. This influencer might change with a diverse team of people or a different circumstance to become one of those influenced through another influencer.

Allow me to illustrate. Mom might be the dominating influencer over a child in the morning prior to school starting. The mother may decide on what to eat and what to wear. The child that is influenced prior to school may end up the influencer of some other children as soon as school begins. Dad and Mom may get together at a restaurant for lunch and each be influenced with the waiter who suggests the house specialty. The time frame dinner is served in the evening may well be arranged because of both the husband's or wife's work schedule.

The prominent leader of any Network Marketing organization is very easily discovered;

1. Simply observe the people as they gather.
2. When a problem is to be resolved, who is the actual individual in whose thoughts and opinions seems most beneficial?
3. Who is the one other people observe the most whenever the problem is being discussed?
4. Who is the one with whom people quickly agree?
5. Most importantly who is the one that other people follow?

The right answers to these types of questions will help you discover who the true leader is within a specific team.
